Room Parents play a key part in ensuring our families and teachers have a consistent and smooth experience throughout their years at MPE. If you're interested in lending a hand speak with your teacher at orientation for more information or reach out to our Room Parent Coordinators above.

While each teacher's specific needs and expectations for their Room Parents differ, parents are responsible for budgeting, planning, and executing the following for their class on behalf of the PTA:

Room Parent Roles
Contact Parent
This role is the messenger between PTA, teacher, and parents for communication.
This role is the lead contact to relay all PTA, room parent, or special teacher communications to parents. You will be prompted when the PTA needs you to share information throughout the school year.
Treasurer Parent
This role manages all money raised for your student's class.
This parent will collect funds in August/September and create a budget breakdown for the school year based on your class's needs. Best practices have shown asking for funds once and budgeting appropriately is preferred, and we encourage transparency so parents understand what they are donating towards and if additional requests for money or items will happen later in the school year.
Events Parent
This role organizes all class parties and teacher gifts.
This role organizes all class parties, teacher gifts, and your class's Winter Fest raffle display.
